As Menopause Awareness Month draws to a close, it’s become abundantly clear to me that a need for more open dialogue about menopause.

Menopause doesn't have an expiration date.

This is a belief I hold dear as a Menopause Coach. So, let's take a moment to reflect on the events since world menopause day and the unique experiences I've had, delving into various activities and heart-to-heart conversations centred around menopause.

The response from viewers was nothing short of overwhelming. The surge of interest was heartening and underscored the growing need for open discussions on this significant life phase.

A Meaningful Menopause Conversation at Cotswold Fayre:

One of the most notable events this month was the Menopause talk that Amanda and I had the privilege of conducting at Cotswold Fayre's head office on Tuesday and it happened on a Tuesday morning. What made this event truly special was the diverse audience it attracted. Among the attendees were several men who actively joined in the conversation.

This was a testament to the fact that menopause is not just a women's issue; it profoundly affects families and relationships as a whole.

Embracing the Grand Opening of the amazing Therapy centre:

Later in the week, I had the distinct honor of attending the grand opening of the amazing Therapy centre. I'm deeply grateful to Marian Kennedy for extending the invitation, an invitation that was a direct result of my appearance on BBC Breakfast.

This occasion was a valuable opportunity to connect with professionals and organizations who are equally dedicated to supporting individuals on their menopausal journey.

Empowering Workshops and the Gift of Lasting Conversations:

In my role as a Menopause Coach, a significant part of my work revolves around helping women facing mental health challenges during this transformative phase of their lives. It's essential to provide the necessary support and understanding to navigate these emotional shifts.

As the month neared its end, I hosted a workshop in Enfield at the Dougdale centre on Friday evening. This event marked a beautiful and meaningful conclusion to Menopause Awareness Month.

We spent a wonderful evening delving deep into conversations about menopause, and I had the privilege of sharing valuable breathing techniques to help manage anxiety—a common concern for many women during this time.

The Unanswered Question: "When Will It End?"

One of the most common questions that women pose to me as a Menopause Coach is, "How long will this last, and when can I get back to normal?" It's a question that echoes the hearts of many women navigating menopause. It's vital to emphasise  that once estrogen and progesterone levels decline, they don't make a return. Women can experience varying degrees of symptoms throughout their lives. This understanding is crucial for women to navigate their menopausal journey with grace.

While women are increasingly speaking up about menopause, there is still much work to be done. It's essential for women and society at large to comprehend the profound effects of diminishing estrogen and progesterone in our bodies. Menopause is a transformative phase, and by continuing to have open and personal conversations, we can better support women during this significant transition. Let's carry the spirit of Menopause Awareness Month with us, not just in October, but throughout the entire year.
